Buccaneers Sign Defensive Tackle To Big Extension

Vita Vea has earned himself a big payday, as the defensive tackle has signed a four-year extension that will pay him over $73 million by its completion. It will begin during the 2023 campaign and make him one of the highest-paid DTs in the entire league.

Vea was initially drafted by the Buccaneers with the 12th overall pick of the 2018 NFL Draft. Since then, he has been a mainstay in their starting lineup and will certainly continue to be after receiving this large of a contract.

It's been a very solid young career for Vea thus far, as he's proving to be a real force on the defensive side of the game. In 49 career games with Tampa Bay, he has recorded 11.5 sacks and a total of 104 tackles. With that, the 26-year-old was also a major part of their Super Bowl-winning team last season.

Nevertheless, this is a wonderful day for the Buccaneers, but also for Vea.
