Dallas Cowboys QB Dak Prescott Sends Out Public Apology On Twitter
The Dallas Cowboys 2021-2022 season came to a disappointing end following a 23-17 loss to the San Francisco 49ers this past Sunday. Making matters worse, Cowboys fans started throwing garbage at the referees at the end of the game:
Despite the caption, it was later clarified that they were actually attempting to hit the referees with the debris, and Dak Prescott endorsed the actions of the fans according to The Athletic:#Cowboys fans throwing things at their own players. During his postgame news conference, Prescott initially expressed disappointment when told fans were throwing trash at players, but when it was clarified they were aiming at the officiating crew, he responded: "Credit to them."
Players and fans were upset when an official seemed to interfere with the Cowboys ability to spike the ball in an attempt to stop the clock with just seconds remaining, but after having a couple days to think it over, Prescott was singing a different tune on social media:

While nothing official has come from the NFL, many expect that Prescott will be fined for his statement despite the apology, and we will report on that information as soon as it becomes available.
