NFL Rumors: Kyler Murray Opens Up About Future as a Arizona Cardinal

There's been some beef brewing in the desert as rumors have circled the football world that the Arizona Cardinals made it clear to quarterback Kyler Murray he needs to evolve more as a leader. While Murray apparently received the news with an open mind, some have questioned his future with the franchise.

Murray wanted to get out ahead of the apparent rift and sent out a tweet earlier this week on where his mindset is currently at:

I play this game for the love of it, my teammates, everyone who has helped me get into this position that believed in me, and to win championships. All of this nonsense is not what I'm about, never has been, never will be. Anyone who has ever stepped between those lines with me knows how hard I go. Love me or hate me, but I'm going to grow and get better

While it doesn't appear a blockbuster trade or anything crazy is in the works, the team has challenged Murray this offseason to be more mature on the football field and more specifically with his body language when things aren't going as planned. The team has heard the noise as well regarding the rumored beef and also released a statement on the matter:

Nothing has changed regarding our opinion and high regard for Kyler Murray. We, as a team, and Kyler, individually, have improved each year he's been in the league. We are excited to continue that improvement in 2022 and are excited that Kyler Murray is the quarterback leading us

Expect to see Murray back behind center in the desert next season and for many years to come as the 24-year-old is eligible for a contract extension after his third pro season.
