NFL Rumors: Browns' Jarvis Landry Involved in Trade Talks

With Amari Cooper becoming the new guy in town, Cleveland Browns wide receiver Jarvis Landry appears to be on his way out. The team has reportedly given Landry permission to work out a team with other teams.

The development comes on the heels of Cooper's arrival as management is looking to shake some things up on both sides of the football. Landry becomes the odd man out and him and his $14.3-million base salary in 2022 hit the trade market. Cooper is costing the Browns $20 million of his own next season.

As for trade targets, there's going to be plenty of interest as the 29-year-old is a three-time 1,000-yard receiver who is best suited to play the slot. He's been banged up at times and spent time out injured but Landry has shown with the Browns he still has lots of game that could help a number of different teams. The Baltimore Ravens, Las Vegas Raiders, and Tampa Bay Buccaneers are three teams who will have interest in wide receivers on the free-agent market so perhaps they ante up via the trade route.

Landry has spent his career split between the Browns and Miami Dolphins, where he lined up four seasons prior to being dealt in 2018. Now we wait and see what 2022 brings as the trade market heats up with another wide out in the mix. Landry and his agent have some work to do as he's coming off a down season catching only two touchdowns while accumulating a career-low 570 receiving yards.
