NFL Rumors: Saints Coach Confirms Major Changes for Taysom Hill

New Orleans Saints head coach Dennis Allen met with the media on Tuesday and confirmed some surprising news. Taysom Hill will be focusing on tight end this season and will shy away from sharing any quarterback duties.

Allen spoke at the NFL's Annual League Meeting in Palm Beach, Florida and per Nick Underhill of NewOrleans.Football noted the change to Hill's position. Gone is long-time head coach Sean Payton, who was a huge advocate for Hill to get reps at QB, and in comes Allen's new approach to the football team. Hill is 31 years old and has certainly been a jack of all trades for the Saints in his tenure with the football team. This includes getting snaps at QB, RB, TE and WR, as well as special teams.

Over the course of the last two seasons, Hill has started nine games under center as Payton used to love the double threat of him either running or throwing the ball. Seems like Allen prefers a pocket passer or a more conventional quarterback. Hill was not the most accurate passer so you can't blame the new bench boss for wanting to shy away from the unorthodox approach.

Hill is a 64.2% passer for his career, including 2,025 passing yards, eight TDs,  and eight INTs. Last season was a down year to say the least as he only completed 58.2% of his passes and while he landed four scores, he threw five picks. Here's what Allen had to say about the new set up on offense in New Orleans:
