NFL Rumors: Teams Calling About Panthers Running Back

The Carolina Panthers are receiving several calls about the availability of Christian McCaffrey. This is still the case even though he isn't on the trading block.

Jones also noted that the Panthers are looking for at least a first-round pick and another asset to even consider trading McCaffrey. Needless to say, Carolina values what he brings to the table immensely and wants a major return because of it.

McCaffrey had himself a dominant campaign in 2019. During it, he recorded 15 rushing touchdowns to go along with 1,387 rushing yards. With that, he added four receiving touchdowns, so he was a threat in multiple ways. Yet, he hasn't been able to replicate his All-Pro season since, as he has dealt with ankle and hamstring injuries. However, if he's able to get completely healthy, it's hard to believe that he can't produce like this again.

It will be interesting to see if Carolina begins to entertain these calls a bit more from here. There certainly is some risk in moving him.
