Saints Sign Defensive Tackle

The New Orleans Saints are set to sign Jaleel Johnson to a one-year contract.

Johnson appeared in 12 games with the Houston Texans during the 2021 season. In them, he had a combined 23 tackles. Overall, his numbers may not necessarily jump out to many people, but he certainly is effective when called upon.

Johnson also will provide the Saints with a bit more experience, too. The 6-foot-3, 316-pound defensive tackle has 65 career NFL games under his belt between the Minnesota Vikings and Texans. With that, he has a combined 110 tackles and 5.5 sacks during his career thus far. With the Saints, he will be aiming to build on these numbers from here.

Overall, although this may not be the biggest of signings, Johnson will provide the team with more experienced depth. Thus, it's a move that is hard for fans to complain about.
