Former Olympian Makes Massive Splash For The Philadelphia Eagles

The NFL is a place where athletes come from all backgrounds in order to make a splash, as we've seen players from different types of football leagues over the world make an impact, but today, it was a former US Olympian that made a big time splash for the Philadelphia Eagles. Devon Allen is a 3-time US National Champion in the 110-metre hurdle event, as well as representing his country at the 2016 and 2020 Olympics, and today, he showed off every bit of that speed in a pre-season matchup with the Cleveland Browns.

Allen showed some elite level speed by getting behind two Browns defenders, and then hauled in a beautiful throw from Reid Sinnett, and while he's certainly way down on the Eagles depth chart as of right now, it's plays like this that are going to get you the right type of attention. In three seasons while pursuing his track and field dreams, Allen was able to haul in 54 catches for 921 yards and 8 Touchdown's for the University of Oregon, and even with his time away pursuing Olympic goals, he was able to impress the Eagles enough to get this shot in 2022.

It's unclear right now whether he can make the 53-man roster in 2022, but if he can continue to show off this speed with the great hands, it's very likely that the Philadelphia Eagles are going to find a spot for him somewhere on the roster, whether it be as a receiver or on special teams.
