NFL Rumors: Deshaun Watson To Play In Browns-Jaguars Preseason Game

Barring any last minute decision, Cleveland Browns quarterback Deshaun Watson will be suiting up for a preseason game against the Jacksonville Jaguars tonight, sources told ESPN's Dan Graziano

Watson, who is facing a potential year-long ban for the 2022-23 season after the NFL appealed his six game sentence last week, is now waiting on appeals officer Peter Harvey to make a decision. The new verdict seems it may need more time to deliver, which allows Watson to suite up against the Jags today.

The 26-year-old is also reportedly open to a settlement between the NFL and NFLPA, according to the Associated Press. He is willing to serve an eight game suspension along with a fine of $5-million, which would allow Watson to still contribute for his new squad later this season.

Watson's last snap was taken with the Houston Texans in Week 17 of the 2020 NFL season. He did not play for the entirety of the 2021-22 season due to his looming trade request, along with the numerous allegations of sexual misconduct that initially surfaced last year.
