NFL Season Preview: Denver Broncos

The Denver Broncos have had a few good teams since their last Super Bowl run led by Peyton Manning, but they've lacked the Quarterback play to make another deep playoff run, but no for lack of trying to find the answer. They made a huge move to rectify that this off-season however, as they moved several picks and players to acquire Super Bowl winning QB Russell Wilson, with the sole intent of taking this franchise once again back to the promised land.

Positives

The biggest Broncos positive in 2022 is their upgrade at Quarterback, as they already had a solid defence and an elite skill group, meaning they could definitely be a dark horse Super Bowl contender in 2022. Bradley Chubb is one of the most overlooked defenders in the NFL, and when healthy, could be an absolute beast for this team, and with arguably the best home field advantage in the league, Denver shouldn't be taken lightly at all in 2022.

Negatives

While this Denver team is certainly solid, the biggest negative for this team is the lack of a game breaker on the outside (they do have some great pieces and a balanced attack, but every other AFC Super Bowl contender has a gamebreaking No. 1 - Stefon Diggs, JuJu Smith-Schuster/Travis Kelce, Keenan Allen/Austin Ekler, Ja'Marr Chase), and while they can move for one at the deadline, right now they certainly need that presence. On top of that, the division they play in is led by two of the most talented teams in the league, and if Russell Wilson can't be at his absolute best to help this squad keep pace with the high powered offences in the AFC West, it could get ugly in the Mile High.

Team MVP

There are plenty of people that could be team MVP for the Broncos in 2022, which is a blessing and a curse, as no one truly stands out as their elite game changer, while still having plenty of solid pieces that will help this team win many games, but the one that stands out above the rest is Bradley Chubb. We know what Russell Wilson can do, and with plenty of talent and speed on the outside, he'll be able to keep this team in games all year long, but if the defence, led by Chubb can step up and make life hell for other QB's in the league, that's when this team will take the step from good, tough to beat team to genuine contender in the AFC.

Record Prediction

There are plenty of factors working against the Broncos in 2022, but if they can stay healthy, there's no reason why these team can't genuinely compete for a division crown, and while we don't see them coming out on top, there's a Wild Card spot waiting right there for them. With no real weaknesses and plenty of experience, this team is going to be very good, and while their playoff spot will be determined by how some teams in the weaker divisions perform, we see the Broncos leaving the 2022/23 NFL season with 9 wins, and a potential Wild Card spot.
