San Francisco 49ers Safety Likely Heading To IR

According to Nick Wagoner, Jimmie Ward is likely going to be placed on injured reserve and will have to miss the first four games of the season because of it.

This is rough to hear, as the 49ers just signed Ward earlier this week. Ward was aiming to cement himself a notable role on their roster, but now this expected trip to the IR will put that goal on pause.
