San Francisco 49ers Sign Safety

The San Francisco 49ers have signed Tashaun Gipson to a one-year contract.

This signing is in response to Jimmie Ward sustaining a hamstring injury. Ward's injury may restrict him from being ready for Week 1, so the 49ers have added Gipson for insurance.

Gipson is a grizzled veteran, so it certainly isn't a bad thing that the 49ers have added him to their roster. In 140 career NFL games, he has recorded 563 combined tackles and 27 interceptions.
