Aaron Rodgers Raves About Young Wide Receiver

Aaron Rodgers famously lost his top wide receiver this past off-season, as the Packers traded away Davante Adams to the Las Vegas Raiders, leaving him with Allen Lazard, Sammy Watkins and Randall Cobb as his top three receivers, but the Packers have several solid young names on this team that could break out. We've seen flashes from the likes of Romeo Dubas and Amari Rodgers, but it was a 2022 second round pick in Christian Watson that is making the most headlines at camp, as he has Aaron Rodgers raving about him.

The rookie underwent a minor knee surgery this offseason, and now, competing in first team drills for the first tine, has impressed many, but most notably the back-to-back MVP Rodgers. "This dude's got incredible stride length. And really, for a man who is 6-foot-5, his speed is legit. It was nice having him. He's a different type of receiver than we've had. A guy that big with that type of stride length with that speed."

Rodgers has had his favourite weapons over the years, and while he will rely heavily on the veterans on this team, if Watson can utilize the size and speed he's got to his advantage, it won't be long before No. 12 finds him more and more, making him his new favourite target. Many have written the Packers offence off due to the perceived lack of weapons, but if Lazard can step up and Watson can break out, this team may be just as good in the regular season as they were a year ago.
