Chargers Pro-Bowl Pass-Rusher Placed on Injured Reserve

He went down early in Sunday's game against the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Now, Los Angeles Chargers coach Brandon Staley said on Wednesday that Pro-Bowl pass-rusher Joey Bosa will have surgery to address his groin injury.

Although Bosa is expected to return at some point this season, the Chargers are still placing him on the injured reserve, meaning that he'll miss four games, at a minimum.

Bosa went down with the groin injury in the first half of Sunday's loss to the Jaguars, managing to record one tackle before sustaining the injury. The twenty-seven-year-old was replaced by Kyle Van Noy, who will likely take over Bosa's workload in his absence. Chris Rumph is also a candidate to see added playing time.

Through three games, Bosa had recorded five tackles, one sack, and one forced fumble.
