NFL Announces Week 2 Players of the Week

The NFL released its official Players of the Week awards for Week 2, and they include a pair of ascendent young talents on the offensive side of the ball. NFL Network's Ian Rapoport shared the winners Wednesday morning:
In the AFC, Miami Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa takes home the offensive honors for his 469 yard, six touchdown performance in his team's incredible comeback over the Baltimore Ravens. Cornerback Jaylen Watson wins the defensive award for the spectacular fourth quarter interception he returned 99-yards for a touchdown, sparking the Kansas City Chiefs 27-24 victory over the Los Angles Chargers.

In the NFC, wide receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown is recognized for leading the Detroit Lions in rushing and receiving in their 36-27 win over the Washington Commanders with his 184 yards from scrimmage and two touchdowns. Cornerback Darius Slay wins on the defensive side for pestering Kirk Cousins in the Philadelphia Eagles' 24-7 victory over the Minnesota Vikings by nabbing two interceptions and five passes defensed.

On special teams, punter Braden Mann wins in the AFC for his 47.3-yard punting average and the successful onside kick attempt that launched the New York Jets to a shocking 31-30 win over the Cleveland Browns. In the NFC, New York Giants kicker Graham Gano gets the nod for his four field goal performance in his team's 19-16 win over the Carolina Panthers. Among his kicks was a 56-yard game winner.
