Patriots QB Not Available To Media Due To Back Injury

The New England Patriots suffered a demoralizing defeat to the Miami Dolphins down in Miami in Week 1, and after the game, the team announced that Quarterback Mac Jones would not be available to speak to the media due a back injury sustained during the game. Since that point, Jones had an X-ray on his back, which came back negative, and the Patriots will have him undergo further tests on Monday to determine the severity of the injury.

This news comes on the back of New England being thoroughly beaten by their division rival, and if Mac Jones can't play in Week 2, it's tough to see where the Patriots turn, as the offensive looked dreadful at points throughout this game.

It's safe to say that New England is no longer the dominant force they once were in the AFC East, but Jones had a solid rookie campaign, and if he can get healthy again and get settled in, the Patriots could be a solid team. Unfortunately, it's hard to tell just how severe this injury could be, and if New England are missing Jones for a lengthy period of time, it's going to be very tough to compete in a crowded AFC.
