Patriots Sign Former Vikings Receiver To Their Practice Squad

The New England Patriots offence currently has a bleak outlook on the 2022 season, as all reports state the team has struggle to consistently move the ball, and with a lack of wide receivers and a young QB that doesn't yet know how to make everyone around him better, this may impact them from Week 1 to 17. While there's no star receivers left on the market after Davante Adams and Tyreek Hill were both traded elsewhere, the Patriots are seemingly looking to former first round picks that have struggled in the NFL so far to help this problem, with Laquon Treadwell being the latest name added to this wide receiver group.

The former No. 23 overall pick by the Minnesota Vikings has also spent time with Atlanta and Jacksonville, and now, he will join the Patriots practice squad ahead of the 2022/23 season, with hopes of restarting a once promising NFL career. Over his six seasons in the NFL, Treadwell has accumulated 1,184 yards with 5 Touchdown catches, and with his athleticism, speed and ability, there's a chance that under coach Bill Belichik, he can restart his career.

The Patriots current depth chart has Kendrick Bourne, DeVante Parker and Jakobi Meyers as their top three, and if they have any intention of competing for a playoff spot and for an AFC East title, there's a very good chance that Treadwell will make his way to the 53-man roster some time very soon.
