Tampa Bay Buccaneers Short Two Star Wide Receivers at Practice

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers' bad run of injury luck continues. According to Rick Stroud of the Tampa Bay Times, wide receivers Julio Jones and Chris Godwin remained absent at Thursday's practice:

Jones and Godwin both missed Week 2 with injuries suffered in the Bucs' Week 1 win over the Dallas Cowboys. There had been hopes that Godwin and Jones might be ready to play this week and perhaps mitigate the loss of Mike Evans following his one-game suspension. Should all three be unavailable, the Bucs could be dangerously shorthanded at wide receiver for a massive Sunday showdown against the Green Bay Packers.

Looking on the bright side, left tackle Donovan Smith returned to practice for the first time since hyperextending his elbow in the first half of the season opener. His presence should come as a huge relief; his backup Josh Wells was placed on injured reserve this week following an early exit in the Bucs' Week 2 win over the New Orleans Saints. With center Robert Hainsey returning as well after a missed Wednesday practice, the Bucs should at least be close to full strength along the offensive line.
