Tampa Bay Buccaneers Wide Receiver Out Rest of SNF

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers will be short a star wide receiver for the remainder of their crucial Sunday Night Football game against the Dallas Cowboys. Chris Godwin left with what is being described as a hamstring injury.

Godwin started against the Cowboys today following a miraculous recovery from a late-season ACL tear in 2021. He tallied three receptions for 35 yards before exiting. His snaps will be spread across wide receivers Mike Evans, Julio Jones, Breshad Perriman, and Russell Gage.

Godwin led the Bucs in receiving in 2021, so his loss is a meaningful one, particularly given the Bucs' struggles in the red zone tonight. But the Buccaneers had been planning all offseason for Godwin to potentially sit out in Week 1, so the depth they've accumulated should hold up for at least tonight. As of this posting, The Bucs lead the Cowboys 12-3.
