Cardinals' Leading Receiver Hobbles off Field

The Arizona Cardinals added injury to insult late in their Week 6 game against the Seattle Seahawks. Wide receiver Marquise Brown was helped off the field late in the fourth quarter following a failed fourth down conversion attempt that all but sealed the 19-9 loss. Brown hit the ground hard on a jump ball that Seattle Seahawks rookie Tariq Woolen nabbed for an interception. Brown required assistance from two Cardinals staff members to get to the sideline. He had hauled in five of his nine targets for a team-high 68 yards to that point in the game.

Brown has been one of the lone bright spots in what has been a disappointing beginning to the season for the Cardinals. He has totalled 43 receptions for 485 receiving yards across his six starts since reuniting with quarterback Kyler Murray. The two were teammates on the Oklahoma Sooners in 2018.
Brown joined the Cardinals this offseason following a trade with the Baltimore Ravens. He initially entered the league as the Ravens' 25th overall pick. He compiled 2361 receiving yards and 21 touchdowns in 46 appearances with the team.

Even if Brown's injury isn't serious, he'll likely have a tough time getting healthy in time for the Cardinals' Week 7 Thursday Night Football matchup against the New Orleans Saints. Luckily, the Cardinals should have three-time All-Pro wide receiver Deandre Hopkins back following his six-game suspension.
