Commanders' Rookie Receiver to Miss Week 7

The Washington Commanders will have to wait a little bit longer to see their first-round pick back in action. After aggravating his hamstring injury in practice this week, wide receiver Jahan Dotson will miss Sunday's game against the Green Bay Packers. NFL Network's Stacey Dales had the scoop.

Dotson returned to practice in a limited capacity this week after missing the previous two games due to his ailing hamstring. Evidently, the team didn't see enough to believe he'd be ready to contribute meaningful snaps against the Packers.

Dotson had shown meaningful promise across his first four appearances, hauling in 12 receptions for 157 yards. He also demonstrated a knack for impactful plays in the endzone, nabbing four touchdown receptions. Given the Commanders will also be without starting quarterback Carson Wentz, the offense could be in for a rough Sunday.

Dotson joined the Commanders as their 16th overall pick in the 2022 NFL Draft. The 22-year-old starred for four years at Penn State, totalling 2757 receiving yards and 25 receiving touchdowns. He earned comparisons to Emmanuel Sanders coming out of college as a speedy if slight wide receiver who could make plays at all levels.
