Eagles' Star Tackle to Return in Week 8

The Philadelphia Eagles have enjoyed a perfect opening to the 2022 regular season, and they appear poised to enjoy more good fortune in Week 8. Three-time Pro Bowl offensive tackle Lane Johnson appears poised to return for Sunday's matchup with the Pittsburgh Steelers after clearing concussion protocol.

Johnson exited with concussion symptoms in Week 6 during the Eagles' decisive 26-17 win over their NFC East rival Dallas Cowboys. Due to his team enjoying a Week 7 bye, he'll avoid missing a game due to his injury.

Johnson has been arguably the critical piece of an Eagles' offensive line that Pro Football Focus ranks as the league's best. The team ranks sixth in rushing yards per game and fourth in net yards per passing attempt this season due in part to Johnson's exceptional blocking.

Johnson joined the Eagles as their fourth overall pick in the 2013 NFL Draft and quickly emerged as one of the league's dominant forces at right tackle. He earned his first of three consecutive Pro Bowls during the Eagles' Super Bowl-winning 2017 season. He has started 118 games in his 10 seasons with the team.
