Injury Update On Vikings Tight-End

He sustained an ankle injury in Sunday's game against the Arizona Cardinals.

The Minnesota Vikings initial belief is that their tight-end Irv Smith suffered a high-ankle sprain during the team's 34-26 win over the Cardinals.

Smith will undergo further testing including an MRI on Monday, but if it is indeed a high-ankle sprain then the tight-end will be forced to miss time.

If Smith does miss time, Jacob Hollister and Johnny Mundt could see their roles increased and see more playing time at the tight-end position.

Smith has three straight games with exactly four catches. Through Week 8, Smith has 22 catches for 168 yards and two touchdowns on 33 targets.
