Jets Rookie To Miss Week 6

The New York Jets are off to a surprisingly good start in 2022, and while the veterans on the team have been stepping up and leading this talented group, the highlight of the year for Jets fans has no doubt been the emergence of four rookies who look to be future stars in the NFL. Garrett Wilson, Breece Hall and Sauce Gardner have all won NFL Rookie of the Week at least once through five weeks, but there's another rookie who's flying under the radar, and that's edge rusher Jermaine Johnson, who has been quite solid in the limited playing time he's been given so far.

With Bryce Huff, John Franklin-Myers and Carl Lawson, it's been hard to get consistent snaps, but in the time he has got, he's made a big impact, with 12 tackles and 1.5 sacks already through five weeks. Unfortunately for Johnson and the Jets, he has been ruled out for Sundays blockbuster matchup with the Green Bay Packers, with an injury that isn't expected to be a long-term one.

It's doubtful that the Jets continue to win games throughout the year, as 6-7 wins is likely where they will end the season, but if their young guys can continue to provide the juice, or the Sauce, they'll be a very fun team to watch, but they'll be without one of their key rookies on Sunday.
