New Orleans Starting QB Will Be Game-Time Decision In Week 7

The New Orleans Saints were expected to come into 2022 and fight for a playoff position with Jameis Winston in at Quarterback, but after missing the last three weeks and seeing solid performances from veteran backup Andy Dalton, it appears that the Saints coaching staff have doubts about the future leader of this team. News broke throughout last week that the team were considering sticking with Dalton even when Winston gets healthy, and today, they confirmed those doubts, as they have yet to make a decision on their starter, just over 24 hours before they take on the Arizona Cardinals on Thursday Night Football.

With Winston back and ready to go, many expected them to simply hand the keys back to their Week 1 starter, but he wasn't dominant early in the season, and with consistent chemistry being formed over the past few weeks with Dalton, it's a hard choice to make for Head Coach Dennis Allen and this coaching staff.

They've also announced that both of their top two receivers are out, pushing rookie Chris Olave into the No. 1 role in Week 7, and given his production in recent weeks with Dalton at Quarterback, there's a good chance they stick with him until he gives them a reason not too. Ultimately, the team announced that it would be a game time decision, so we will keep you updated as we close in on the beginning of Week 7 in the 2022 NFL season.
