New York Jets Get Good News On Rookie Tackle

The New York Jets came from behind in Week 4 on the road to take down the Pittsburgh Steelers, sending their record in 2022 back to 2-2 with a matchup against the division rival Miami Dolphins awaiting them in Week 5, but that's not the only good news the Jets received. Rookie tackle Max Mitchell, who has started all season long in the absence of Mekhi Becton and Duane Brown was injured during the victory, and after being carted off, many people believed it would be the end of the promising rookie campaign.

Fortunately, today it was confirmed that while Mitchell will miss several weeks, there was no serious injury suffered, and he should be back with plenty of season left, as the Jets try to keep pace and compete in a very tough AFC East and AFC in 2022.

The Jets are hoping to get Brown back soon, as well as left tackle George Fant, but at this point in time, their horror run of injury at the tackle spot is something rarely seen in the NFL. They had star second year guard Alijah Vera-Tucker starting at left tackle in Week 4, and while things aren't going to be fixed immediately, the news on Mitchell is good, as he projects to be a genuine starter for this team for years and years to come.
