NFL Rumors: Packers To Target Steelers Receiver At Deadline

The Green Bay Packers made the decision to trade Aaron Rodgers favourite target in Davante Adams this off-season, and with a 3-3 start and a terrible Week 6 loss to the New York Jets behind them, it appears that they are working hard to rectify this situation to give Rodgers a legit No. 1 receiver for the rest of the year. They've still got Allen Lazard, Sammy Watkins, Randall Cobb and Christian Watson, but all except Lazard have struggled to stay on the field, and now, it appears they've found their target for the trade deadline.

According to reports, Green Bay are 'all in' on acquiring Pittsburgh's Chase Claypool, and given his size, athleticism and hands, this would be a perfect fit, especially if the Steelers become sellers at the deadline after their 2-4 start, with a very tough road ahead. Claypool is off to a solid start in his career, but after the Steelers drafted George Pickens, it looked like they were ready to move on, and if they can get a solid return and build around Dionte Johnson and Pickens, it would be a solid move.

No deal is expected to happen in the coming days, but if Green Bay can't get production out of their receivers in Week 7, expect talks and speculation to ramp up in the weeks ahead before the trade deadline.
