Panthers Star Cornerback Listed As Questionable For Week 6

Although the Carolina Panthers have been one of the NFL's worst teams through five weeks, falling to a 1-4 record and firing their head coach and defensive coordinator, they have one of, if not the best cornerback in the league over that exact same span. Jaycee Horn has been fantastic through 5 games, with a PFF rating of 77.0, he has allowed the fewest yards by a single corner in the NFL over that time, and if he were to miss the Week 6 battle with the defending Super Bowl Champions, it would make a tough game even tougher for Carolina.

Baker Mayfield has been listed as doubtful, meaning PJ Walker will likely get the start, and with Cooper Kupp and Allen Robinson coming to town, you need to have all of your best defenders active if you want any hope of slowing the juggernaut down.

Horn was drafted No. 8 overall back in 2021 by the Panthers, expecting him to be an elite cornerback right from the jump, and while he may have started out slow, his 2022 shows his insane progression, to the point where he may be considered the best cornerback in the game in coming years. If Horn does indeed miss Week 6, Carolina could be in even more trouble than originally expected, but given the lack of severity in the injury, there's a chance he could play, only time will tell.
