Patriots Sign Young Running Back To 53-Man Roster

While the New England Patriots have been criticized for their lack of weapons for Mac Jones and now Bailey Zappe early in the 2022 NFL season, no franchise in NFL history has ever gotten more out of lower level talent than the Patriots under legendary coach Bill Belichik. Unfortunately for New England, they've had plenty of injuries in their backfield too, and that is what led to yesterday's move to add young Kevin Harris from the practice squad to the active 53-man roster, where he will serve as a backup in Week 6 behind new starter Rhamondre Stevenson.

Harris was a sixth round pick in the 2022 NFL Draft out of South Carolina, and while he may not get many touches, when he is given the opportunity, he can be a big play threat for this Patriots team. The Patriots also have Pierre Strong in the backfield, so Harris may not get much of a chance, but as he showed as a Gamecock, he can be an absolute game breaker.

He finished his final season in college with 1,110 yards and 15 Touchdowns, and if he can do all the small things right and make the right decisions out there, a coach like Bill Belichik could certainly reward him and continue to give him an upgraded role on this team.
