Saints Wide Receiver Again Out In Week 6

The New Orleans Saints off-season was full of optimism, as the team believed they had a healthy Michael Thomas and Alvin Kamara, along with a standout rookie in Chris Olave, but so far, the season isn't going the way they planned, mainly due to the lack of health from their offensive stars. That's coming back to bite them in Week 6 yet again, as the team announced today, that along with Andy Dalton making his third straight start, Thomas will be out yet again with a foot injury that he can't quite seem to get past.

After missing the majority of the 2021 season, it seems like Thomas will never quite be back to himself, and even if he can get healthy, the team has Olave and Jarvis Landry, who can competently fill in the WR1 role as a duo in New Orleans. Despite his hot start to the year, which saw him put up 16 catches for 171 yards and 3 Touchdown's through the first three games, Thomas hasn't been the same since 2019 when he won Offensive Player of the Year, and now, he's struggling to stay healthy week to week.

He can still be effective, so if New Orleans is to battle for an NFC South crown or Wild Card spot in 2022, they need him healthy, but if he can't, it may be time to accept that and move on to rookie Olave, who has been putting up fantastic numbers all year long.
