Seahawks Claim Former Saints Running Back

The Seattle Seahawks have been a surprisingly strong team in 2022 after trading away their franchise Quarterback in Russell Wilson, but in Week 5, they suffered a devastating injury, as starting running back Rashaad Penny went down with an injury that the team unfortunately announced would be a season ending one. This changes a lot for Seattle, who have run the offence primarily through Penny in 2022, with QB Geno Smith playing a solid role, and now, the team will need to look to their gameplan as they go forward.

With Kenneth Walker now figuring to be the starter, the team looked to the waiver wire to add depth to this team, in the form of 24-year old, former New Orleans Saints running back Tony Jones, who has all the skills to be a key piece for this team going forward. The team still has a great group of wide receivers, and they have the ability to play offence with anyone in the NFL, and while it's not confirmed what role Jones will play in this team, there's no doubting that this will be a great pickup.

In two years in the league, Jones has recorded just 200 all purpose yards with no Touchdowns, but he was played in a very limited capacity, so if the team doesn't yet trust Walker to be the workhorse for this backfield, this will be a great pickup for the Seahawks team.
