Steelers Confirm Rookie Will Make First Start In Week 5

The Pittsburgh Steelers shockingly fell to the New York Jets at home in Week 4, making them 0-3 since their season opening win against the Cincinnati Bengals, and this was enough to force them into a Quarterback change during their loss. To start the second half, the No. 20 overall pick, Kenny Pickett came into the game, and although the Steelers weren't able to stop the Jets 4th quarter comeback, he did some very good things throughout the game.

Pickett wasn't placed in the best position to succeed, and he ended up throwing three interceptions, including the first pass of his NFL career, but it wasn't all bad for the former Pitt standout. Kenny also ran for two Touchdown's, and while the defence couldn't make any stops late, he confidently stepped up and put the team in a position to win the ballgame.

Now, Pittsburgh have officially placed Pickett as their starter in the latest team depth chart, and after a 1-2 start with veteran Mitch Trubisky, it's officially time for the future in Pittsburgh. The AFC North is a very tough division in 2022, and if Pittsburgh have any chance of competing, with what seems to be a very talented team, Pickett will need to step up and get going immediately, and that starts in Week 5 in Buffalo against the powerhouse Bills.
