Titans Rookie To Make First Career Start In Week 8

The Tennessee Titans overcame the rival Indianapolis Colts in Week 7, propelling them to a 4-3 record on the season for sole possession of first place in the AFC South, but it wasn't all good news, as veteran Quarterback Ryan Tannehill left the game with an ankle injury. Fortunately, he returned to see out the victory, but as this week has gone on, it's become apparent that the injury was more serious than first thought, and while it's not expected to be a long-term injury, he has now officially been ruled out of the Week 8 battle with the Houston Texans.

This paves the way for rookie Malik Willis to have his first start at the NFL level, and after an impressive showing in the pre-season, he will bring something to this offence that Tannehill doesn't, and that's an ability to use his legs to get things done in more ways than one.

The Titans should take down the division rival Texans, and depending on how Willis plays, we could be looking at a genuine Quarterback controversy down the line, but for now, no matter how well he does, it should be clear to Titans fans that Tannehill will be back sometime soon and will be the starter when healthy.
