Buffalo Bills Declare 2 Stars Out for Thursday Night Football

The Buffalo Bills will be without two of their biggest stars when they face the New England Patriots on Thursday Night Football. The team officially declared linebacker Von Miller and left tackle Dion Dawkins out for tomorrow's pivotal AFC East clash. Miller suffered a knee injury in the second quarter of the Bills' Thanksgiving 28-25 win over the Detroit Lions that is expected to cost him several weeks. Dawkins hurt his ankle in the same game, but his status and long-term availability remain unclear.

Miller and Dawkins are both among the Bills' most elite players, so their absences will likely hurt the team as it enters a crucial stretch. Miller leads the team with 8.0 sacks and Dawkins was a Pro Bowler in 2021. The Bills play their three rivals in the AFC East over the next three weeks, beginning with a visit to the Patriots this week before hosting the New York Jets in Week 14 and the Miami Dolphins in Week 15.

Miller joined the Bills as a massive free agent splash earlier this year on a six-year, $120 million deal after winning a Super Bowl with the Los Angeles Rams last year. Dawkins initially entered the league as the Bills' 63rd overall pick in the 2017 NFL Draft. He has started 85 games in seven seasons with the team.
