Jets Rookie Makes Strong Statement After Week 9 Win

The New York Jets have shocked the NFL world thus far, with a 6-3 record through nine weeks as they head into their bye, and while several of those have been massive wins, the biggest of all came in Week 9, when they knocked off the division rival Buffalo Bills 20-17. The offence from New York was solid throughout, but it was the defence that stood up as it has all year long, and once again, it was highlighted by three players: D.J. Reed, Quinnen Williams and rookie sensation Sauce Gardner.

Gardner continued his incredible rookie season with another interception, and plenty of solid defence played on Gabe Davis throughout the game and after the game when he was asked about it, he made a very solid statement on the talent this secondary possesses.

When asked if he and Reed were the best cornerback duo in the league, he responded by saying "I feel like nobody's doing it like we're doing it", and while Philadelphia certainly have a strong case to make, Sauce and Reed have been incredible thus far in 2022, as the team haven't given up over 25 points since the Bengals game in Week 3, which was the only time it happened. At this point, this duo just keep proving they are the best in the league, and until proven otherwise, the confidence this team has in their secondary means that in their minds, they are the best duo the league has to offer.
