Kansas City Chiefs Sign Defensive Tackle

The Kansas City Chiefs can see a Super Bowl within their grasp and are loading up for the stretch run. According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, the team has signed Pro Bowl defensive tackle Brandon Williams to their practice squad with the eventual intention of promoting him to the active roster. Williams most recently served as the Baltimore Ravens nose tackle in 2021 but was semi-retired this year as he waited for an opportunity similar to the ones provided by the Philadelphia Eagles to fellow defensive tackles Linval Joseph and Ndamukong Suh. Williams will have a chance to fortify a Chiefs defensive line that appears poised for a Super Bowl run.

Williams played 123 games in nine seasons with the Ravens, starting 114. He played a key role on several dominant squads, even earning a Pro Bowl in 2018 for his contributions to the team's second-ranked scoring defense. His enormous inside presence could free up three-time Pro Bowl defensive lineman Chris Jones to wreak even more havoc. Jones has an absurd 10 sacks and a Pro Football Focus grade of 91.7 over his 11 starts this year.
