Miami Dolphins Running Back Could Return in Week 13

The Miami Dolphins might have one of their prized offseason acquisitions back in the fold for Week 13. Head coach Mike McDaniel revealed at his Wednesday press conference that running back Raheem Mostert is "in a good spot" to play in Sunday's matchup against the San Francisco 49ers.

Mostert missed the Dolphins' Week 12 30-15 win over the Houston Texans due to a knee injury sustained during the team's 39-17 win over the Cleveland Brown in Week 10. The Dolphins had a bye in Week 11.

Mostert is the Dolphins' leading rusher this year with 543 yards at an efficient 4.6 yards per attempt. He is also their most reliable receiver out of the backfield, securing 17 of his 26 targets for 119 yards. The Dolphins totalled a middling 66 yards on 23 carries without Mostert in Week 12.

A well-travelled veteran in the league, Mostert spent five years with the 49ers before joining the Dolphins this past offseason. He totalled 1554 rushing yards at a deadly 5.7 yards per attempt in 33 appearances from 2018 to 2020, but injuries have kept him from ever establishing himself as a true star in the league. He'll have a chance at revenge against his former team in Week 13.
