NFL Announces Rookies of the Month

The NFL announced its Rookies of the Month for October, and they include a clean sweep for a surprising Seattle Seahawks team that won four of its five games. On offense, running back Kenneth Walker takes home the award for his 432 rushing yards and five touchdowns. The 41st overall pick of the 2022 NFL Draft has proven an efficient and deadly lead back for the Seahawks, averaging 5.4 yards per carry for the league's 12th-ranked rushing offense. The Seahawks rank fourth in scoring offense due in part to Walker's contributions, though NFC Offensive Player of the Month Geno Smith deserves his share of credit as well.

On defense, cornerback Tariq Woolen earns recognition for his three interceptions and 19 tackles. The jumbo-sized 6-4 defensive back has been sensational since joining the Seahawks as the 153rd overall pick in this year's draft, leading the league with four total interceptions and holding opposing quarterbacks to a 47.1 passer rating on throws in his direction. The Seahawks appear to have another Richard Sherman on their hands.
