NFL Rumors: Deshaun Watson's Browns' Debut Set

Jacoby Brissett has filled in quite capably, compared to expectations, while the Cleveland Browns await the debut of Deshaun Watson.

Browns' general manager Andrew Berry said Wednesday that Watson will start Week 13 against, who else but, the Houston Texans, his former team.

It's the first game Watson will be eligible to make his Cleveland debut.

Berry said that quarterback Jacoby Brissett has been ''everything we hoped'' while directing the offense through the first eight weeks of the season. However, the Browns didn't take a gamble on Watson and sign him to a massive extension just for him to sit on the bench.
The good news here is that Watson has clearly been able to stay on track with his workouts since he began serving his 11-game suspension after the preseason, given the remarks by Berry.

With the terms of the suspension, Watson has been able to return to the Browns' team facility since Oct. 10 to take part in meetings and workouts, but not eligible to resume practicing until Week 11.

If all goes well and Watson starts in Week 13, it will be his first regular-season appearance since Jan. 3 2021.
