Panthers Cornerback Out For The Season

The Carolina Panthers have come under plenty of scrutiny for the way their current roster has been constructed, but beyond the Quarterback position, they've managed to assemble a talented young team, with standouts D.J. Moore, Brian Burns and Jaycee Horn leading the way, but there's one name that often goes overlooked when it comes to key pieces for the future of this team.

That would be Donte Jackson, who has been a member of the Panthers since he was drafted in the second round of the 2018 NFL Draft, and has become a key piece for the secondary, with the cornerback registering 14 interceptions and 40 pass deflections this time. Unfortunately, at practice this week, it has been revealed that Jackson tore his achilles, and will be out for the rest of the season, and now Carolina's slim chances at the playoffs in 2022 become even slimmer.

With Horn leading this group, this will always be a talented unit, but without Jackson, they'll suffer going forward, and if the Panthers can somehow get on a role and push for a playoff spot, they'll ultimately miss his impact in a tremendous way.
