Pittsburgh Steelers Stars Banged Up Following MNF Win

The Pittsburgh Steelers kept their season alive for at least one more week with a hard-fought 24-17 win over the Indianapolis Colts on Monday Night Football, but they're apparently feeling the sting Tuesday morning. Head coach Mike Tomlin shared at his Tuesday press conference that safety Minkah Fitzpatrick, edge rusher T.J. Watt, linebacker Myles Jack, and defensive lineman Larry Ogunjobi all picked up injuries that might hinder them this week. Watt and Fitzpatrick are both former All-Pros for the Steelers but have been in and out of the lineup this year. Watt has missed seven games this season with a pec injury suffered in the season opener against the Cincinnati Bengals, and Fitzpatrick has missed two games because of a knee injury and an emergency appendectomy.

Jack and Ogunjobi may not have the star power that Watt and Fitzpatrick do, but they're also key cogs in the Pittsburgh Steelers defense. They've started 10 games a piece for the Steelers this year and have each notched in excess of 400 snaps on defense.

At 4-7, the Steelers remain within striking distance of a Wildcard berth, but they have little margin for error. They face the Atlanta Falcons this week and an eighth loss could knock them out of realistic contention. They also play the 7-4 Baltimore Ravens twice over the final five weeks of the season.
