The loss of Werner is a massive blow to the Saints, as he has been a phenomenal defensive player when healthy this season.
In nine games this year, Werner has 74 total tackles, two forced fumbles and three passes defended. With the Saints at 3-7, last place in the NFC South, it would appear they would not want to rush their young stud back and risk further injury on a lost season, but that remains to be seen.
The twenty-three-year-old linebacker is a former second-round pick by the Saints in the 2021 NFL Draft.
