Star Cincinnati Bengals Wide Receiver to Return In Week 13

The Cincinnati Bengals passing attack might be cresting at just the right time. According to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, the team plans to have wide receiver Ja'Marr Chase back this week for their crucial AFC tilt with the Kansas City Chiefs.

Chase has been unavailable since injuring his hip in the Bengals' Week 7 35-17 win over the Atlanta Falcons. He had totalled 605 receiving yards and six touchdowns in seven starts prior to his exit.

The Bengals have done well to survive Chase's absence, winning their past three games and lifting their record to 7-4, tied for the best mark in the AFC North. Chase could provide a much-needed boost for his team as they attempt to muddy the standings this week with a win over the Chiefs. The Bengal beat the Chiefs twice last year, including in the AFC Championship. The Bengals earned a surprising Super Bowl berth with their 27-24 overtime upset.

Chase initially joined the Bengals as their fifth overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft. He immediately announced himself as a superstar in the league, setting a rookie record and a franchise record with his amazing 1455 receiving yards. Given his staggering debut, Chase's solid season this year is actually a mild disappointment: his receiving yards per game are down from 85.6 to 75.6 and his yards per target are down from a similarly incredible 11.4 to 8.2. Needless to say, Chase remains an incredible player.
