Texans Claim Former Cardinals Running Back On Waivers

Earlier this week, the Arizona Cardinals made the shocking move to release promising young running back Eno Benjamin, who has stepped up with some huge games in the absence of starter James Conner, but now that Conner is back, it appeared the Cardinals had no room for him, opting to place him on waivers.

Today, a waiver claim came through on Benjamin, and he was officially taken by the Houston Texans, who can now boast one of the most exciting backfields in the entire NFL, with the combination of Benjamin and young star Dameon Pierce. On the year, Benjamin is closing in on 500 All-Purpose yards to go along with 2 Touchdowns, and while he likely won't get many touches in Houston due to the production of Pierce, they're likely to slide him into a role that lets him see a few touches here and there.

The 23-year old is in his second season at the NFL level, and shows plenty of promise, so if he can continue building on that, the Texans have a solid offensive core to build around for the future as they look to rebuild a once successful franchise.
