Veteran Defensive Tackles Set to Debut for Eagles

The Philadelphia Eagles made a pair of splashy mid-season additions earlier this week, and they both appear in line to debut on Sunday against the Indianapolis Colts. Veteran defensive tackles Ndamukong Suh and Linval Joseph are both active for the Week 11 matchup. It will be the first appearances of the season for the free-agent acquisitions. They were signed to identical $1.25 million deals earlier this week to help fortify an Eagles run defense that has allowed 120+ rushing yards in five straight games.

Suh has been a free agent since wrapping up a three-year stint with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers that included a Super Bowl win in 2020. The Buccaneers ranked first in rushing yards allowed in two of Suh's three seasons with the team and third in the other.

Joseph has been a free agent since finishing up a two-year run with the Los Angeles Chargers. The Chargers were mediocre against the run in each of those two seasons, ranking 18th and 30th in rushing yards allowed, but at 6-4 and 329 pounds, he should provide a big body up front to stuff running lanes for the Eagles.

The Eagles face the Colts and All-Pro running back Jonathan Taylor this afternoon, who should provide a solid test for the Eagles' new-look front.
