Veteran Running Back Expected To Sign With Kansas City Chiefs Practice Squad

The Kansas City Chiefs, despite injuries and the trade of Tyreek Hill before the season began, have maintained an incredible offence behind Quarterback Patrick Mahomes, and now, they are adding another potential weapon for the stretch run, as they aim for their second Super Bowl run in this era.

Today, news broke that the team is in the process of signing former Denver Broncos and Los Angeles Chargers running back Melvin Gordon, who was released by Denver a week ago following a string of struggling performances, which saw him continue the fumble issues that have plagued him throughout his career.

Kansas City and Denver will play twice before the season is over, and with Clyde Edwards-Helaire still on Injured Reserve for at least three more games, this is a fantastic pickup for the Chiefs, and while Gordon likely isn't going to be a starter for the team, he could provide fantastic veteran depth and leadership going forward.
