Week 10 Preview: Los Angeles Rams vs Arizona Cardinals

In a matchup between two NFC West teams striving to stay alive after disappointing starts, the 3-5 Los Angeles Rams host the 3-6 Arizona Cardinals in Week 10. Both teams made the playoffs last year, but a loss on Sunday could all but eliminate either team from postseason contention. The Rams are narrow 1.5-point favorites to secure the crucial win. The Los Angeles Rams have looked nothing like the team that won last year's Super Bowl. An offense that ranked seventh in scoring last season has fallen all the way to 29th this year and 31st in yards gained. Nothing has worked. The team ranks 27th in turnovers, 25th in net yards per attempt, and 31st in rushing yards per attempt, and with quarterback Matthew Stafford currently in concussion protocol, it could all be even worse on Sunday. If the Rams are going to stand a chance in Week 10, they'll need their defense to step up. Thankfully, they rank eighth in yards allowed, and they're facing a Cardinals team they've held to 46 total points in their last three matchups.

The Rams aren't the only team enduring questions at quarterback. Arizona Cardinals passer Kyler Murray was a surprise non-pariticpant at Wednesday's practice because of a hamstring injury. The Cardinals offense hasn't been the disaster that the Rams' offense has, ranking 16th in points scored and fifth in giveaways, but Murray can't afford to be hindered against a team that has had his number of late. He followed up last year's embarrassing 34-11 Wildcard Round loss with another futile 20-12 defeat earlier this season. Another loss this week could sink the season.
