Broncos Sign Rookie Quarterback To Active Roster

The rookie could be in line to get into his first NFL game this weekend.

The Denver Broncos have promoted quarterback Jarrett Guarantano to the active roster.

According to head coach Nathaniel Hackett, if Russell Wilson does not play on Sunday, Guarantano will be the Broncos' backup QB. ''He has some really good intangibles...he has very good athleticism.''

The Arizona Cardinals originally signed Guarantano as an undrafted free agent this year and wanted to bring him back with Colt McCoy now in the concussion protocol, but the Broncos opted to keep him.

The twenty-five-year-old QB is an undrafted rookie out of Washington State.
