Green Bay Packers LT Bakhtiari Doubtful for Week 16

The Green Bay Packers will likely be without their one-time superstar left tackle for another week. Offensive lineman David Bakhtiari was officially listed as "Doubtful" on the team's final injury report, indicating he's expected to miss Week 16's matchup with the Miami Dolphins. Bakhtiari is still recuperating from an emergency appendectomy he underwent ahead of Week 13. The veteran tackle has missed five total games this year between his recovery from the procedure and his rehabilitation from a lingering 2020 knee injury.

Bakhtiari was once one of the league's elite offensive tackles before a series of unfortunate events derailed his career in 2020. Shortly after signing a colossal four-year, $92 million extension that at the time made him the league's highest-paid offensive lineman, Bakhtiari suffered a devastating ACL tear in practice that would cost him the 2020 postseason and all but one game of the 2021 season. He has played sporadically this season, but he's still solid when available, earning an 82.4 overall grade from Pro Football Focus for his play this year.

Bakhtiari initially joined the Packers as their 109th overall pick of the 2013 NFL Draft. He immediately outperformed his draft slot, starting 16 games at left tackle as a rookie. He eventually developed into perhaps the league's greatest pass blocker, earning three Pro Bowls and two All-Pros from 2015 to 2020.
