Injury Update On Chargers Derwin James

He suffered a concussion on Monday night.

Los Angeles Chargers star safety Derwin James did not practice on Wednesday.

James suffered a concussion on the same play where he was ejected from the game for lowering his helmet on a second-quarter tackle Monday night.

As a result, he's since opened his Week 17 prep with a missed practice.

The twenty-six-year-old still has until the weekend to clear the league's concussion protocols, but this isn't a great start to the week for him. If he was forced to miss any time, Alohi Gilman would fill in for him.

In 13 games this season, James has 109 total tackles, four sacks, two forced fumbles, two interceptions and five passes defended.
